Unable to retrieve Enterprise Global Template

Hi Project Server Forum,

I realise that this error has been discussed in previous strings,
however; I have a different circumstance in which it is arising.

To simplify the deployment of Project Server, we have developed an
automated scripting package which installs MPP 2007, establishes the
PWA connection, downloads the Outlook add-in etc etc. When testing
this on a users machine we found that MPP installed successfully but
when opening MPP, it reports the 'Unable to retrieve Enterprise Global
Template' error. I assume this occurs when MPP attempts to establish a
connection with project server however when I access MPP without
enterprise connectivity I can see and test the designated project
server url... connection still fails though.
When attempting the same installation with the same user on another
PC, the same error occured. Interestingly enough, we have not
experienced the same issue with any other user. Perhaps a roaming
profile issue!?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tom

Might be a profile issue, but much more likely that it is caused by
the given user's permissions in Project Server. If you are using
permissions close to the defaults, make sure this user is in the
Project Manager Group. If the permissions are customized, you need to
talk with who ever customized the permissions to determine the
appropriate group.

Hi James,

Thanks for your advice. The problem was resolved by simply resetting
the user's profile... who would have guessed.

Cheers

Tom
