Unable to run text converter

I am trying to insert of word document into a FrontPage page. I am running
Office Pro 2003 with SP2 and FrontPage 2002. When I try to insert the
document I get the following error message.

"Unable to run text converter
%CommonProgramFiles\MicrosoftShared\TextConv\html32.cnv"

Any ideas?

Kind regards

Tony

For no other reason than curiosity. Although I can envisage a time when I
may need to use the facility to import fairly large chunks of text from users
who don't have FrontPage. I suspect there are some alternatives. What did you
have in mind.

Since posting this thread I have come across the KB article to which you
referred. However, I have followed it through to the letter and it hasn't
fixed the problem. I rebooted the PC just in case that was what it wanted
but, again, no joy.

I have just searched by C:\ drive for html32.cnv but it doesn't exist.

I'm puzzled.

Kind regards

Try, Help, Detect and Repair. If that doesn't work then try un-installing
and re-installing.

As far as copying from Word, when you do that, switch to Code View and
you'll see a lot of extra code bloat that comes along with it. I prefer to
copy from Word to Notepad and then from Notepad to FrontPage and format it
myself.

Hi guys

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Detect and Repair worked a treat.

Thanks also for the comments about Notepad vs Word. Makes perfect sense now.

Kind regards

Tony
