Unable to save/open files since BTRF

Every since I installed the Office 2006 Beta 2 refresh I can no longer open
or save files in Word or Excel, nor can I attach files to outgoing emails in
Outlook 2007. I tried disabling my anti virus software (Trend Micro IS 14)
and it had no impact on my ability to save or open files.

I've run the Office Diagnostics and it said everything is fine.

Does anyone have a solution? If not, how can I revert back to my previous
version of Office 2007 Beta?

Thanks.

Hi Fred,

Are you getting a specific error message when you try to open or save files?

If you use Start=>Search is OfficeAV.DLL on the computer?

Hi Bob,

No error messages appear. The only way I can open files is by using Windows
Explorer. To save a file I have to close out Office and then it will ask if
I want to save the file. If it is a new file, it will save it, but it will
not allow me to create a name for the file.

I just completed the search of my entire system and could not locate the
file OfficeAV.DLL.

Thanks.

Hi Fred,

Is this just in Word or in the other apps as well?

This sounds like the one that sometimes happens if there are either mixed versions (i.e. Beta 2 and B2TR) on the system. In Windows
XP, in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel, at the top of that dialog turn on the [x] show updates box and see if there
are any 2007 listed items (they're not all grouped under 'Microsoft...' if you're looking at the alphabetical list) that do not show
either a title indicating a B2TR version or an update showing that the Beta product has been updated to B2TR.

It can also happen if there is an older 'Building Blocks.dotx' file still in play.

Hi Bob,

The file open/save problem is also associated with Excel. I have not used
the other programs since the refresh. I do have an insert file issue with
outlook email and I have to do a drag and drop with explorer in order to
attach a file to an email.

I'm using Vista and when I look under Change or Remove an Update under the
header Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 (Beta) I see Beta Two
Technical Refresh for Microsoft Office 2007 (KB000000):
OfficeSPFullFile(12.0.4407.1005): B@TR.

Do you suggest I delete or replace this file to see if that corrects the
problem?

Thanks.
