unable to save report revisions

am running several reports using access queries as data source. Can modify
and save query changes at will. Reports changes can be run and printed but
the revisions to reports will not save. It asks to save but does not responds
to yes response.

I tried copying into a clean new database, same result. I tried uninstalling
and reinstalling Access, same result.

I'm wondering if I'm using a "reserved word", if such a thing exists in
Access, as a label in the report or some such thing

It it's a corruption of the report, that should work.
