Unable to save word 2007

I am having difficulties saving in Word 2007. When I open a document, make
changes and try to save the file I keep getting the following error:
There is an unrecoverable disk error on file ~WRL....
Word then closes the document.
The changes I made are lost - also the original document is erased. No
backup exists and there is no recovery file.
I have now changed to a new hard drive and tried to reinstall Word 2007.
Any ideas?

Does this happen all the time, or only when opening/changing an existing
document? For example, if you open Word try to immediately save the blank
Document 1 document, does it do the same thing?

Are you editing in Compatibility Mode, or is this a native Word 2007
document? (Have you, for example, set Word up to always save in Word 97-2003
format?

If you start Word in Safe mode (hold Ctrl as Word starts, then answer Yes to
starting in safe mode), does it still happen?
