Unable to see columns when creating queries in an adp file

I have converted an mdb file to an adp file. When I open other adp files such as Northwind and create a query I can see all the fields listed in the field list and add then to the query design as required. Even when I go to SQL Enterprise manager I can create a new view and see all the columns in the table I am querying whether this is pubs or Northwind. But my own database whether in Access or in Enterprise Manager lets me create a new query, but all I see in the Added table at the top of the design view is one field in the field list called *All Columns. What have I done wrong with my adp file that I cannot see all the fields in a table? Your help would be much appreciated.

Dear Cathi:

Do not dispair.

We saw this here about 3 or 4 years ago, and we overcame it somehow.
I asked everybody and we're all agreed. It's easy to fix. But nobody
can remember how right now. We'll keep scratching our heads to
remember just what it was.

For what it's worth, you're not going nuts. Well, at least this
particular thing doesn't mean you're going nuts. To be accurate, I
don't really know if you're going nuts over something else, or if you
may already be nuts. But in this particular instance, there's no
indication of insanity. Except probably on my part!

Is that paranoid enough for you. It must be getting late!

I went in to see if anyone had replied and while it was loading, I was thinking I wonder if it's Tom? and sure enough it was you. I didn't want to bother you too much, with my new problem so I made a new thread, hope you're not disappointed, no disrespect intended.
In response to your thread; No I'm not nuts, well it least I don't think I am??? Maybe I should ask around?

Magic! - yes I had a hyphen in the database name, and what's more I even manage to change the database name given I know so little about SQL. Thanks a million, I'm rocking and rolling now. Cathi

new all the time. Nice catch, Gary! I would never have guessed that
hyphens are poisonous.

Off topic...

We once added a new Citrix server
to our farm and my cohort named it
with a hyphen.

We put our web-accessed dbs on it
and all went well until a Mac user tried
to access a db.

Spent weeks off and on trying to figure
that one out.

Turned out Mac couldn't deal with
hyphen in server name! Aargh!

Not off topic...

When run upsizing wizard, it should
warn user that new name they have
typed in should not contain a hyphen...
I would think.
