Unable to see files in folders

Dick

When I try to find a file that I know is in a folder, I don't see it. When I
do a search, it shows up. Do I have something checked wrong that does not
allow me to see certain files. They are .jpg files that I put in the
folders.

Sorry Dick: You have not given enough information for us to answer.

We need to know your OS version and level (e.g. OS 10.4.10) and "how" you
are trying to see the files (in which application? The Finder?)

You'll be more likely to get a reply if you take the time to specify what
version of the operating system you're using, how you are attempting to
"find a file" - using the OS or through a program... if the latter which
one(s). Also indicate the versions of the programs involved.

Sorry, this is only the 2nd time I have used this service.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, Version 6, build 6000.
I use "My Computer" to search for the .jpg files located in folders.
I know that the jpg files are in specific folders, because I copied them
there when I transfered them from my old XP computer.
So, I use the "search" feature in "My Computer" and search for *.jpg. The
jpg files show up in the folders that I put them in.
I can view the files from the results that turn up from the "search", and I
can copy them into other folders and see them in the new folders, but for
some reason certain folders do not show them when I open certain folders in
"My Computer" . It seems to be the "picture" files (.bmp, .jpg and .tif) that
do not show up.

Hope this explanation helps.

You might have better luck posting to a Windows group. This group is
for Mac Office products.

Hi Dick:

Yeah, I have Vista here, but I have no idea what would cause that one...

As the others have suggested, you would be better off asking in a Vista
group where the specialists live...

Cheers
