Unable to see pictures in word.

When I paste a picture into a Word document it just shows up a square place
holder. If I click inside the place holder 6 dots appear around the edge
but no picture is shown. How do I get the picture to appear in my Word
document.

Using Word 2000 on 98SE

I found the solution to my problem. If anyone else has had this problem the
solution is: Tools>Options>View>Picture placeholders "Untick show
placholders

Its an option to speed up the displaying of pages by showing a placeholder
rather than the actual image so that the screen renders more quickly.

You can also insert images by using file<insert image from file. Browse
to you file and it will insert on the page visible.

That's true but not the solution to the problem, which was answered a while
back.

There's a check box Tools>Options>View>Picture placeholders

It's an option to speed up the displaying of pages by showing a placeholder
rather than the actual image so that the screen renders more quickly.

Unchecking the placeholders box will display the images.
