This a is a problem I have had for months and don't know how to fix,
its frustrating to say the least.
I have WinXP pro SP2 and Office XP pro and everything is up to date.
Basically the problem is only in MS Office progs and when i start a new
document then "save as" the computer works a little bit as expected
when opening up a "save as" window and the office prog fades slightly
as though there is a window opening.
However no window is visible.
If i click the mouse anywhere on screen I get a little beep from the
speakers as though I am clicking in an area outside where the "save as"
window should be.
If i press ESC I am returned to the program window.
If i type a few letters and press ENTER an egg timer briefly appears on
screen and when I check the default documents window I can see a new
document there.
I have tried uninstalling office and reinstalling office and the error
persists.
Clearly the "save as" window pops up but i cannot see it.
Any ideas anyone?
If i find a solution I will post it, but have had no luck on my own or
searching anywhere at the moment.
