Unable to select text box

I used a text box in excel to temporary label a group of columns. I no
longer need the label and tried to select it to delete. I am unable to
select it. I have never run into this problem before. It is a extremely
large spreadsheet, I hide columns at times to work on it. I made sure
nothing was hidden, unfortunately I am still unable to select and delete the
text boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Try this to select ALL objects on the sheet:

Edit - Go To - Special - Objects

This should select your text boxes but it will also select any / al
other objects. If you have other objects that you don't want to delet
hold down the shift key and click on them to deselect them. Once yo
have only the objects you want to delete selected you can hit th
delete key

Thank you! Excitedly I tried your recommendation, unfortunately the "object"
selection is grayed out. Is there something else I need to select?

It is a shared workbook...would that make a difference? I am the owner.

Sorry, I forgot to get back to you.

Have you checked to see if the sheet is protected? (Tools - Protectio
- Protect (or Unprotect) Sheet)

I don't think the sharing aspect has any affect on your problem unles
one of your sharers protected your sheet
