I'm sure I'll miss some details but here goes,
We started experiencing a strange issue with outlook users at one of our
sites. (outlook 2002 and 2003 on windows XP sp2 machines, various builds)
I'll describe the environement at a high level. This is one of our
satellite offices which connects back to our lan the problem is only
affecting one office and about 50 users out of 160. The problem follows the
user within the office but resolves itself if the user goes to another
satellite office. My mail profile when setup in that office also experiences
the problem but I'm fine from my own office. Exchange 2003 env.
Short story we cannot send emails with attachements. Emails without
attachment go fine. All other net work traffic is fine (I can remote into
the office. Utilisation is low). We cannot save to drafts or add
attachments to tasks etc (anything where outlook is uploading a file to the
store.)
We had the telco and our network guys on it for two weeks but all packets
are fine. Ftp transfers work fine, windows copy as well etc. Outlook seems
to be the only symptoms but again only in that office. Users are on multiple
different mail servers
We rebuilt a machine and it still experiences the problem.
I know this is screeming of a network issue but there isn't anything
obviously wrong on the network our sniffers have found.
