unable to send e-mails. creating error message

Hi

Every now and then i am unable to use outlook to send e-mail. it keeps on
giving me ann error message. the only way this is rectified is when i press
the send recieve button and there is incoming mail. when there is incoming
mail my "outbox" messages get sent. If i have no incoming mail my messages
remain in the outbox and i get an error message any time i press send
recieve.

Soooo... what version of Outlook, what is the exact error message, did it
ever work, and what did you do to make it stop working?

Well I managed to fix the problem together with my ISP however we are unsure
as to the cause. What we did is we went into my e-mail account settings and
ammended my SMTP- instead of the usual setting (mail.eim.ae) we put my ISPs
adress namely 213.42 etc etc .Like this it worked. According to my ISP i have
a software problem as Outlook is not automatically recognising the IP adress.
This is all chinese to me!!!!!

Sounds vaguely like your computer has some DNS setting issue. Or maybe a
hijacked HOSTS file. Asking in a networking group or one for your
operating system with more detail may help sort the cause.
