unable to send read receipt

A

AJS

Hi,
does anyone knows why I a unable to send "read receipt"?
I am able to send everything else, but not "read receipts". I deleted them
using "mdbvu32", but I still want to be able to send "read receipts".

I am using Outlook 2003.

Thanks

It's usually caused by your SMTP server not accepting them. How many
accounts do you have set up in outlook?

What do you mean by SMT server not accepting them?
What is the solution for that?

Some SMTP servers simply don't allow it. If that's your case, the only
solution is to contact your isp/mail provider to see if they'll change it.

Read receipts are formatted differently than regular messages and don't
include the from address so many SMTP servers block them as spam.

I just switched from Outlook Express to Outlook using the same SMTP server.
I was always able and still am able to send read receipts from Outlook
Express.
Could it be something else?
Thanks

The only similarities between Outlook and Outlook Express are the names and
that both can do email.

If you can send normal mail without issue and the receipt is being sent on
the same account it arrived on, there isn't anything else to go wrong but
the SMTP won't accept it. You could turn on logging and maybe see why it won't
accept.

Thanks,
I don't understand, I am a computer novice and have no clue what you mean by
SMTP won't accept it. Also, what is turn on logging? Could you be more
specific?
Thanks
