Unable to send/rec emails from Outlook while NIS is enabled

I am having problems sending and receiving emails from Microsoft Outlook
(Professional 2003) while Norton Internet Security (2005) is enabled. As
soon as I disable Norton Internet Security I can send and receive OK. Is
there a something I can do that will allow me to send/receive emails while
NIS is enabled?

Configure it correctly? See if you are not blocking port 25 and 110 for
Outlook if you are using a POP3 account.
For support on NIS continue in a newsgroup for Norton. You've proven that
Outlook is not your issue here.

Ports 25 and 110 are blocked?

Configure it correctly? See if you are not blocking port 25 and 110 for
Outlook if you are using a POP3 account.

I don't no; I'm no NIS user. Check the documentation of the application.
Getting your e-mail through a firewall is quite a common setup so I suspect
that they've created a step-by-step manual for that. Otherwise check the
Norton newsgroup for support.
