Unable to start project services on installation

Hiya,

I've following the install docs to the letter and now when I try to install
project (small scale install) the wizard goes all the way to the end. The
services are unable to start (access denied).

What am I doing wrong?

I'm sorry I forgot to include more information;

I'm installing on windows 2003 standart sp1, just the session manager. I
have also installed on this machine share point services and sql analytical
servies with the decision objects,IIS 6 and asp.net and configured all
according to the documentation.

Mike,

I have wrestled with the same problem for two days at a customer. In this
case it was a single computer installation and I tried to install the
software on another drive than c:\program files etc. because the customuer
wants the virtual directory on another drive and folder. Then I installed the
software on the default destination; the installation succeeded.
Possibilities:
1. on a single box the only destination allowed is the default one
2. the specified drive and folder is not accessible (read/write)
3. installation on another drive and folder is allowed but the system can
not find system files which are on the c;\ drive (e.g. common files)
