unable to "type" reply to email -keyboard seems to be disabled

In Microsoft Outlook 2003, I am unable to type a reply to emails. The
keyboard seems to be disabled; typing does not produce characters on the
screen. However, I am able to type in the CC: section. Also unable to type
in "send" email mode.

As a lark, if you start a new message, type some gibberish in the message
body then hit control-a and control-c and then go to start-run notepad and
control-v it in, do you see what you typed?

Having the same problem as "rlin" but in Outlook 2002. This only occurs when
replying to an email in Outlook. Tried your suggestion. What I typed showed
in Notepad. No problem with any other editor (Wordpad, Notepad, Word, or new
Outlook email). Any suggestions?

Is it only when replying, or is it when you compose a new message as well?

Sounds like your default font is set to white.

Sorry to take so long to get back. It only happens when I reply to an email.
My default font is set at 10-pt. arial black in all instances in Outlook.
Could this be a Word problem even though I don't use Word for my email editor?
