Unable to uninstall 2007

I was running Office 2003 and decided to try the 2007 Beta. I installed and
ran successfully, but when the beta was up I uninstalled and 2003 would no
longer work. I tried to re-install twice and both times the installation of
2003 failed. So I checked Add/Remove and there is an instance of 2007 Beta
Pro but when I click uninstall it tells me that my computer does my computer
does not support the package language. I tried to download and install the
2007 Trial, but it won't install because it sees another instance(that I
can't remove) and won't install.

Many thanks for the link, I appreciate your assistance, but this list of
instructions is unbelievable. Outlook 2007 won't install until 2007 Trial
is uninstalled, and 2007 Trial is corrupt and won't uninstall. I've tried
reinstalling the trial, and that fails too. I've tried System Restore to a
date before the trial install, and that fails. I can't go forward, and I
can't go back, and the only apparent solution aside from a complete system
rebuild is pages long. Bummer.

Hi, I tried this method and in the registry, it still won't let me uninstall
Microsoft Office 2007. It gives me a message "Windows Installer - preparing
to remove" but then an error "this patch package could not be removed..."
Help, I am getting nowhere fast. Cindy

HI, I am in the same boat as Cindy P. I tried add or remove programs in the
control panel and nothing happens when I click remove. I followed the
instructions from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218. When I right click
on the installer and click uninstall I receive this message "Windows
Installer - preparing
to remove" but then an error "this patch package could not be removed..."
Not sure what to try next. Any help would be apppreciated.

I made a mistake. Now when clicking the application and selecting uninstall
I get this message. "This patch could not be opened. Verify that the patch
package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor
to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package."

I am so in the same boat as you folks and just wrote a post myself. I didn't
see this one. I followed all the right steps to remove 2007 trial, but it has
done nothing but screw things up. I first tried to simply uninstall 07 (I had
and liked 03), but it dissabled 03. Then I too tried system restore, but it
didn't restore what we missing. Now, I've been able to uninstall 03 and I
have a full version 07, but the trial version won't uninstall. Of course, the
new version won't install as long as the corrupt trial version is on my
computer.
