Unable to update a task

Please help..
A user experienced the following error: "Invalid Call --- See
comments in code". Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint
Services".

The user could not update her task in PWA. She mentioned that she
got the similar error earlier in the week but changes eventually went
through. We check the error/log trail and was not able to pinpoint
the error. And, I made myself the Assignment Owner so that I could
update the task. I wanted to be able to open it and save it, first
without making any changes.

Also, I found that there was unpublished data and apparently a publish
that didn't complete properly. This is based on the fact that the
published view in PWA had a different task numbering sequence than the
same tasks in the project file. I opened the file, saved it, and
successfully published. This did not correct the problem.

We had the same problem here. Never figured out the problem or a proper
solution. The server guy opened the one task and changed the hours left on
it, saved, and published schedule and the person was then able to update that
task. I believe this is a bug that hasn't been identified yet. Good luck!
