I am having the same problem... anyone know why?

I had changed letter of CD-player from E to D. When I removed my Office 2003
SBE, and installed it again, my update (SP1) succeeded.

If you're running from the update scanner, try getting it from here and if
the Client file doesn't install, try the FullFile.

If that fails, go to "eventvwr.msc" by typing that without quotes in your
run box>application>any error message numbers and copy during the time of
install attempt from MsiInstaller as source?

I tried to update again and it gave me the same error. I
looked at the error log and it gave me a error code of
1015, unable to connect to server 0x800401f0.

You didn't make it clear if you used the Full File. Also if you scan this
group, you will see some helpful hints about overcoming some of the
obstacles of installing MOS 03 SP1 in multiple threads, including use of
tools from the Resource Kit like LIS or use of the Windows Uninstall
Utility. Sloan Crayton [MS] and others have posted a number of helpful tips
on getting it in, and on explanations on how to use the tools and contexting
problems with the MSOCACHE folder.

For goodness' sake! Why doesn't Microsoft just fix the bug? Like making the
"missing" files downloadable for example?

Chad,
great info but after looking at all the steps to just update Office
2003. I would have thought Microsoft would have an easier process by now.
Chad this is a major problem experienced by alot of people for them to wonder
all the way to this forum. Why doesn't Micorsoft ANNOUNCE the problem and a 1
or 2 step fix???
Sorry Chad I have better things to do with my free time then read Microsoft
knowledge base articles and mess around with the registry and logfiles. I bet
you have better things to do also.
