I am unable to use "free rotate" function to tweak a JPEG into position
after inserting it into a WORD document.
I'm using Word for Mac from Office 2004 with Power PC Mac 10.4.8 on a
700 MHz G4.
Any help?

Is your picture set to In Line With Text in the Format Picture/Layout
dialog? If so , switch it to something else.

Hi Mike -

You most likely have the JPEG inserted as In Line with Text... Use the
Picture toolbar (or Format Picture dialog) to set the Text Wrapping to
something appropriate.
