Unable to use office 2003 standard with 97 professional

I have recently updated my computer to Windows XP after
formatting and installed Office 2003 standard. I went to
install Access 97 but found it was on an upgrade CD for
Office 97 Professional. The Upgrade CD searched the
computer and found no software that can be used
to 'upgrade' from. I was not able to even get into the
Setup screen to select which programs I wanted to
install. How can I install Access 97 onto my computer
from the upgrade CD?

AFAIK, the only way to do this is to install an "upgrade- qualifying"
application. In this case, as far as I remember, Lotus Smartsuite was a
"qualifying application". You can pick this up on Ebay for VERY little
money, considerably cheaper than Office products.

It is not necessary to install, just "show" the CD when the verification
asks for it.
