Unavailabe in 2k7, edit wrap points

Hello
After inserting a graphic, to wrap text around, the option of edit wrap
points is not available. I tried using all options like "in front" "through"
etc. to find whether this options comes on, but of no avail. Is this feature
left unattended in word 2007? Or I was doing something wrong?
I do get the + sign along the cursor if I use the Ctrl key, but when I
click, the selection vanishes. Any ideas? Thanks

I can confirm that Edit Wrap Points is dimmed for a graphic whose wrap
points I am able to edit in Word 2003 (a GIF with transparent background,
inserted inline, wrapping changed to In Front of Text). I thought that might
be one of the situations where the picture/shape had to be in a Drawing
Canvas, but that disables the entire Text Wrapping menu. What I found,
however, was that if I insert the picture in a Drawing Canvas and then drag
it out of the canvas, I can edit the wrap points.

The picture inserted in the Drawing Canvas has square solid handles instead
of square/circular open ones, and there is a wide difference in the variety
of Picture Tools available for the different types. The trade-off is that if
you get an "old-style" picture whose wrap points can be edited, you don't
have the Picture Styles.
