I have an Acccess DB (Access 2003) that is stored on a network. While
attempting to open the DB, a properties dialog box will appear. At the
bottom is reads Security: this file came from another computer and might be
blocked to help protect this computer and displays an Unblock button. Unless
I choose Unblock, nothing happens. When I click Unblock and OK, the window
closes and everything is OK for a while. Occationally, the box pops back up
while I'm working but most of the time, I'm good until the next use. The
next time I open the file, I go through the same thing again. This is not
happening for all users of the DB.
With this in mind, I have a few questions:
1. What causes the Block in the first place?
2. Why is the Block reset after unblock is selected?
3. Why dont all users of the DB see the Unblock button and have the trouble?
4. Most important, can I turn it off?
Thanks in advance for the help with this very frustrating issue. Have a
great day!!
