unconvert text

Nancy

I am using One Note, and converted some handwritten pages to text.
Unfortunatley, my notes do not make sense now, and I just want my handwritten
notes back!! Does anyone know how to please help?

I searched everywhere in Help, and found this section: "Note If the
correct word is not included on the shortcut menu, you must either rewrite
the word, undo the conversion, or use the Tablet PC Input Panel or the
keyboard to re-enter the word. If you have a keyboard available, it may be
easiest to retype incorrectly converted text or press F7 to correct
misspelled words."

There is no information anywhere as to the aforementioned "undo the
conversion".

Thanks for anyone's help!!

It's the normal "Undo" function found in other applications - Edit | Undo
or Ctrl-Z. Like with other instances of the Undo feature, you must undo
immediately after converting, otherwise the next action (delete, type,
formatting, etc.) then takes the place as the "Undo-able" action.

Can the user save the ink layer before conversion and "park" that ink version
somewhere in case the conversion isn't appropriate? This could be important
to my use of ON as a teacher, where the original notes are kept intact for
legal reasons during IEP meetings, etc.

I suppose you could copy the page to a new page, then do the recognition on
only one of those pages. If the recognition is bad you could delete the
recognized page and revert to the ink page.
