Undefined function

I worked on this database at work on Win Xp - office Xp
and want to work on this at home. I'm using Win ME and
Office 2000 at home. When I open a couple of the queries
its saying "Undefined Function '[Format$]' in
expression." That function is available in the expression
builder. It will only let me look in the SQL statement
and not in the query design view. What's the problem?
