Underallocated resource

David Rio

Hello

Probably I do not use MS Project as I should because I so often have the same problem :
I have a project with several tasks (fix work).
I define a custom calendar for each resource in order to take into account vacations.
But when MS Projects splits the work among the resources, it does not take the best of them and I have under allocated resources whereas this resource could continue to work on this task and make it finish earlier.

What am I doing wrong ?

Hi David,

You probably set a lot of constraints or fixed dates such that Project lacks
a degree of freedom.
If you just give in tasks, they al start today and you have a huge
overallocation, not an underallocation.
OBTW, do you have automatic resource leveling on?
