underlined spaces disappear when word wrapped

Hello All,
Perhaps someone knows a trick for this problem. I have about 20
spaces in a form which are underlined. A user would then fill in some
info there. However, when this underlined spaces happens to get at
the right end of a line, it disappears. Is there a way to force it to
behave as if it were a normal string of chars?

Thanks alot.

Hi dcurren,

I guess we are talking about a form that uses formfields in a protected
document. The usual thing to do when you want the data that is entered to
be underlined is to place the formfield inside a table cell and format the
cell so that it as a border on the bottom.

Thanks for your reply.
I tried the one-cell table method but it seems to be anchored to the
page. The underlined spaces need to float along with the text because
text is being added in front of the underlined spaces. The amount of
inserted text is different each time the macro runs depending on the
options selected by the user. These are legal documents and the
underlined text does not get filled in by the user - it is simply
printed out, and will be filled in later by a judge using a pen.

Hi dcurren,

In that case maybe you need to set up tab stops with the leaders set to be
_.

I copied the underlined spaces from a wordperfect macro and it worked
like I wanted.
Bizarre
