Understanding Multiple PST's

E

eWare

Why does Outlook create one PST for the initial creation of a profile and
then additional PST's for each additional mail IMAP account?

Is this different for the creation of POP accounts?

Is their a way to only have one PST?

Thanks in advance!

Because IMAP accounts require their own storage location; the IMAP protocol
uses a 2 way active sync so if you would combine the locations you'll end up
uploading everything to all accounts as well.

POP3 only has a server to client retrieval and not back to the server so you
can combine multiple POP3 accounts into one storage location.
