Undo Object Join Command / "unjoin" in Visio 2003/2007

I am drawing a couple of complex polygons; the lines are connecting
automatically to a polygon. After that, I cannot make changes to the lines
and connections and have to start drawing a new one?

So here is the question: after I join for example two lines with
"Shape"-"Operation"-"Join", how would I unjoin or split them? I was trying to
find a solution for an hour now.

Draw a line segment across the shape where you want it split, multi select
the shape and the line segment, and Trim.
