Undo Paste Changes Format of entire document

Hi

Normally I use the function "paste special" "unformatted text" to paste text into a Word document. I do this quite a bit as I am constantly copying species names and things that are difficult to type again. When I forget I normally just hit "undo" and then paste again. However when in .docx, the Undo paste function changes the format in my entire document.

Is there a reason for this - and a way of stopping it?

Thanks
Jenny

Hi Jenny:

Check the format of the formatting Style applied to the text. Chances are
you have left it set to "Automatically Update".

Turn that off and the nonsense will stop.

Cheers
