unequal character spacing

S

spacechaos

The spacing of the first letter in a word is larger compared to the rest of
the letters when printing the document (not visible on the screen). This
happens only occasionally for individual lines of the whole paragraph. The
format of the body text is set to 'Times New Roman' (10pt), character spacing
'normal' and 100%, and the text is justified.

Any idea where this problem could come from and how to fix it?
Could it be a problem with the 10pt font (I am using Word 2003), since I
haven't had this problem with the standard 12pt font (however, would still
like to use the 10pt font in this case)?

This happens to me too sometimes with certain printers only. It i
frustrating, as it makes a document look unprofessional

It is almost certainly a printer driver issue. See if there's an update
available.
