unexpected error occurred

The message "an unecpected error occurred during command execution". I was
then prompted to verify that all argument names and values were correct. This
occurred during import from Excel. I import 20 spreadsheets. Most were fine,
but several caused this message.

Can anyone assist?

Hi bendinblues,

What version of Project including service pack are you using? There
were some problems with importing Excel files into Project 2007 that
were corrected in the Infrastructure Update released in July.

Other than that, I would try to determine what is different between
the files you are attempting to import.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Jules,

I'm using Project 2003 SP3. I'm also running with Vista. I'm assuming that
the problem is actually with Vista and the sync process as there is nothing
different about these files that are giving me this error. It's only the one
tab in teh workbook on a few of the workbooks. (I import 2 tabs of
information into Project some weeks). If I select the area that gets imported
and coipy and paste into a new tab and then import it seemes to work fine for
that weeks data. However, a few weeks laster, the corruption reappears.

I am very very perplexed!

I am at the point now wher I am going to throw Vista in the rubbish bin!

Hi bendinblues,

Is there a space in the sheet tab name? That has been the cause of
trouble before. Take out any spaces and make sure there are just
letters or numbers -- no punctuation.

Better?

Julie

Jules,

The tab is named Current Projects. I did, remove the space in the offending
workbook, but the error still occurs in that workbook. all of the workbooks
contain the same tab name, yet it's only a few that develop the error. As I
stated earlier, if I copy and paste only the data that gets imported into a
new tab the error goes away. And then it reappears a few weeks later. That's
why I'm thinking that it might have something to do with the syncing in Vista.

Any other suggestions would be helpful, though......and thanks!

Hi,

Sorry, I don't use Vista and therefore cannot comment any further
about what Vista may or may not be doing. Sorry, but my experience
(and knowledge) is restricted to Project. Do you have the ability
to test the scenario in Project 2003 SP-3 on XP?

Julie
