Unexpected Program Termination

I often have several files open in Word 2003 and IE open with Webmail. When
I minimize the Word window then restore it, Word closes completely and I have
to recover or restore Auto saved files. I am using a Sony Vaio with 1 GB
memory. I have all updates installed. This is a new behavior, not observed
in other computers.

Not sure whether you did so by accident or whether the MS servers have
"dumped" you inquiry here, but this is the Word newsgroup for Macintosh.
Your issue is obviously Windows-based, so I'm afraid there won't be much

Hi Robert:

Sony installs a "Launcher" application that interferes with the normal
operation of a lot of software.

It's designed to "observe" what is going on on the computer, and give you
one-click access to things like picture handling and music. Basically, it's
a totally unnecessary piece of frippery that serves to constipate VAIOs. I
spent several hours attempting to fix some very serious problems on a
friend's similarly-configured VAIO until I managed to get rid of the
Launcher...

I suggest that you may want to uninstall that before you get very much
older: it will cause constant grief of this kind.
