Unexpected Word termination

Hi to everyone,
I am wondering if anyone experienced and/or has a sollution to the following
problem:
While I use word, it pauses of it's own as if saving very slowly. When I
attempt to do anything it states it is 'not responding' and offers me an
opportunity to close the programme as non-responsive. No saves are made to
the editing. When re-entering it keeps asking me about the changes made to
'normal'.
I initially thought it may be a virus, checked and no viruses were found.

If you have Norton Anti Virus, open NAV and disable to Office Plug-in.
