Greets, i have a database in Access2000 format which i designed in
Access2003. In the database there are tables whose contents have greek
characters. The field names are all in english. Additionaly i have forms
which have greek characters in the label fields and to the messages sent to
the user.
To my surprise i found out that if on the user's computer the settings
(Regional->Advanced->Language for Non-Unicode Programs) if the user hasn't
selected Greek the database will not function correctly (send a message
saying that there was a communication problem in the OLE Server). Altough
changing the Non-Unicode to Greek solves the problem, i must sent this
database to users abroad who have their own settings.
Shouldn't the database store everything (including labels, contents, etc)
using Unicode format?
Can i change something in the database to force it to use unicode for
everything?
All computers run windows-xp. I have enabled Unicode compression for text
fields.
Thanks in advance for any feedback on this.
