Unicode text within a metafile not displaying

Hello

I am trying to paste an Enhanced Metafile (.emf) that contains Unicode text
into Word 2002/2003/2007. This initially pastes in OK. However, if I
right-click over it and select "Edit Picture" all of the Unicode (post 0xFF)
characters change into question marks.

Is this a know issue and if so is there a workaround?
