Uninstall corrupt Office 2007

Hi all-

My MS Update downloaded Office 2007 Service Pak 1. Since then, I have been
unable to open any MS Office tool. I tried to uninstall Office, but it says
it has become corrupted and cannot be uninstalled. I also tried the manual
uninstall suggestions on the MS help pages, but the computer won't let me do
any of their suggestions (I have admin rights).

I tried reinstalling with the CD, but it always encounters an error just
after starting.

TIA

having 'Admin rights' is not neccessarily the same as logging on as the
Administrator, if this is a Vista PC suggest you ask in a Vista group with
regards the rights issue

It only seems to be a rights issue when I try to manually uninstall. But
that doesn't seem to be the big issue. I will try the Vista group for
suggestions on manual uninstall.

The issue is I can't uninstall Office because it's become corrupted, and the
CD won't reinstall. Any suggestions?

The account you are using doesnt appear to give you the neccessary rights,
that is the problem, that a Vista group may give guidence on.
So if you cannot manually uninstall you need to overcome the rights isssue,
in order to do so

It seems that Office became corrupted. Although not recommended to do so on
Microsoft's webpage, I uninstalled using Windows Install Cleanup. It
uninstalled, and then I was able to install using the CD. Haven't had any
problems since, even after downloading the service pak again.

I had the same issue and tried manul uninstall. It wouldn't do anything that
way. So i used the uninstall tool as well. I found out I not only had an OEM
trial Office 2007 but a Home and Student version as well on this computer.
The home and student version did not show up in the program install/uninstall
dialogue bix. I removed all copies and rebooted, reinstalled and everything
works now.

Thanks for your advice......
