UNinstall EXCEL 2008 for MAC

EXCEL 2008 for MAC. YIKES What a disaster. Can anyone tell me how to
uninstall just this component of MS office 2008, and reinstall my previous
EXCEL version?

Run the Remove Office application.

Uninstalling Excel is not necessary unless you want to remove Office 2008
altogether. If that's what you want to do use the Remove Office utility on
the installation disk.

If you're going to continue using any of the suite it's better to just leave
everything installed & simply not use Excel. Office 2004 or X can be
installed side-by-side so you can continue to use both - the one exception
being Entourage. If using E'rage 2008 go ahead and install the previous
version but don't run it.

The one "down side" of having both installed is that dbl-clicking a file in
Finder will always launch the later version unless it is a .xls file *and*
2004 is already running. Even changing the OPEN WITH in Get Info won't
change that.
