How do I uninstall MSN Messenger from the Office suite?

"MSN Messenger" isn't part of the Office 2008 suite - that's an old
version.

You can just drag either "MSN Messenger" or "Microsoft Messenger" to the
trash, then empty it.

If you wish, you can also trash the Microsoft Messenger Data and History
folders from your Microsoft User Data (MUD) folder.

my msn is constantly running, as if it's trying to sign in and i can't cancel
the sign in or close it, and hence i am unable to uninstall it. how do i do
this?

What happens when you select the icon in the Dock and select to quit?

You can quit any application in the Activity Monitor found in Utilities.
Select the application and click on the Quit button. If the application is
hung, you can select to force quit.
