Uninstall Office 2000

I want to uninstall Office 2000 in order to Install a new version of Office
XP pro. When I attempt to use the Add/Remove Programs I receive the following
message "Insert 'Microsoft Office SR-1 Professional Disk'and click OK"
message. I don't have this disk anymore. There has to be a way of purging
Office 2000 from my computer in order to install a new version. Any help is
appreciated.

Why not just install Office XP on top?

I already tried that. When you open the Office products, it says it is Office
2000. When you try to download updates, it also still only sees 2000.

cdbanderson,
Is your XP version an upgrade or full version? Your problem lies in the
missing installation disk & your Windows installer information.
If a full version of XP you could try this utility
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301&Product=offxp#appliesto
If XP is an upgrade you'll need the Office 2000 disk to un/in stall Office XP.

use the Office Online web based newsreader here:

In Office System 2003 applications:
Help/Assistance Pane/open Communities

Thanks Chris. The utility did remove most of it. When I installed the full
version of Office XP and opened word, the splash screen does show Office XP.
Also, the Office updates finally sees Office XP also. The funny thing is,
when inside of word, if you select the Help, About Microsoft Word, it still
says Word 2002. Got to love that. I am downloading the Office updates and
hopefully it will change that. Thanks again.
