Uninstall picture manager

On my wifes PC the above programme is installed, we wish to remove it but
don`t appear to have the CD, does anybody know how to remove it without the
CD? and also with the CD if we find it.
We need to remove itas it is causing a problem with Adobe Photoshop and file
types even though I have set the type for "Jpeg" to open with Photoshop the
icon the picture does not change and it is causing a problem when resaving
files in Photoshop for the web the system save a copy, i.e you end up with
two file with the same name + the extention of JPEG or JPG in the same folder
which as we all know should not happen.

if i'm not mistaken
photoshop can assume
complete control over
the file types upon
installation and configuration.

have you tried to reinstall
photoshop and "select" all
the picture file types you
want from the listing?

also, if you do plan
on reinstalling photoshop
it might be a good idea
to simply delete those file
types beforehand.

I did set Photoshop to take control of all file types, but against JPE files
the Microsoft picture manager still is present.

ok, for whatever reason
your system is defaulting
them to picture manager.

a couple of months ago
a ran sfc to remove several
themes that i got tired and
were overriding some of my
system defaults.

out of curiosity with your
posting, i noticed that all
my photoshop file type settings
have been defaulted to mspaint.
funny, because i am confident
that if i repair office, picture
manager will over ride ms paint.
and i am confident that if I reinstall
photoshop, it will over ride
pic mgr.....

in any case, since pic mgr is
an office tool, it can be removed
via add/remove programs for
microsoft office advance tool options.
