Odd. It should run fine under Windows XP. What symptoms are you seeing
after installing it? Did the installation complete successfully, and did
you apply all the patches? Did you install it as the administrator in
Windows XP?

This lets you try to re-install Office without it recognizing that it's
already installed, which may help repair the installation.
Was your version of Office originally purchased pre-installed on the other
computer, or was it purchased retail?

No error message. Using add /remove programs, it prompts me to insert
Microsoft office disk. I do that and the program quits responding. I have
to "end task" and close. I purchased office 97 when I was running windows 98
but understood it would be compatible with XP. Can't make it work so I'm
