Uninstall trial version of Office 2007

Hi, my Gateway notebook came with a trial version of Office student and home
2007. I have an older version of office, so I did not install the trial.
However, the trial installed itself. Now the trial period is over, and the
applications are freezing. I can't use my older version of office, because
the 2007 version supercedes it, and when I try to uninstall it, it doesn't
work. I called Gateway, and their tech support ran me through some things,
but it still doesn't uninstall. I just want this d*mn program off my
computer! I didn't ask for it, didn't pay for it, and don't want it!
How can I remove it?????????
