Uninstalled specific Office 2003 programs and memory used increase

I have both Office 2003 and 2007 installed on my Gateway e475m notebook. In
an attempt to free up some memory, I attempted to uninstall specific Office
2003 programs (i.e., Project, Word, Outlook, Publisher, PPT). While these
programs no longer appear in my Start menu, the amount memory used by Office
2003 jumped from around 600 MB to 900 MB. Any suggestions on fixing this?

Hi Betsy,

AFAIK, when you have both Office 2003 and 2007 installed, you need to uninstall Office 2007 first, then remove the unwanted Office
2003 components before reinstalling Office 2007.

The size as seen in add/remove dialogue is not accurate

PS You dont free memory, you free disk space, and if you are that low on
disk space you need to consider other options
