Uninstalling and installing Office

I want to install Office 2000 Frontpage. In order to do this correctly, as I
understand it, I must first unistall Office 2003 and then do a custom install
of Office 2000 where only Frontpage is installed. Then, once that is done, I
will reinstall Office 2003. By doing this will I lose all my Outlook stuff
like contacts, calendar, inbox, and sent emails?

Thanks.

Hoops,

How about installing Office 2000 Frontpage into another directory other
than the default C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office.

I install Access 97 all the time this way so unless you have good reason
not to try it.

Before proceeding you can also backup all your Contacts/Calendar
Items/Emails into a PST file to make sure that all is saved and can't be
corrupted.

Nope - you should be able to do a Custom install of FrontPage 2000 without
uninstalling Office 2003.

Interesting. I've read in some discussion groups that the proper way to
install Office 2000 Frontpage in a computer with Office 2003 is to uninstall
Office 2003, then install Office 2000 Frontpage and the reinstall Office
2003. But, I think I'll try what you have suggested because it makes sense.

I think I'm going to try what TechOne suggested, which is basically the same
as you have suggested with the exception of putting Frontpage in its own
directory.

Thanks.

As an addendum, I have Office Standard 2007 installed - I wanted Publisher
and Access from a copy of 2003 that I have and so I just did a custom
install. It automatically put Publisher and Access in a different folder
from 2007 and I've never had any problems with it...

It should do that automatically - on my machine Office 2007 is installed in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 and the parts of Office 2003 that
I installed later using the Custom Install option are in C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office11
