Uninstalling KB892843

After reading up here about the problems created by KB892843 with relation to
task requests I wanted to uninstall it from my machine. The problem is that
I am running windows 2000 and the windows installer (i have 3.1) does not
have a "show updates" option like it does in windows xp. I've tried
uninstalling and re-installing office but the update is still stored somehow
in the registry. I am unsure of how to remove it. Any ideas or advice would
be appreciated
Thanks

If the update is uninstallable, there will be an entry in Add/Remove
Programs. You may need to scroll through all the entries to find it,
although it may be under "Windows 2000 Hotfix".

The update should be uninstallable. I was able to do it fine under windows
xp at home but I cant do it at my workstation running win2k. There is
nothing in the Hotfix section because its an office update not a windows
hotfix. I have been trying like crazy to find a 3rd party uninstall utility
that will recognize office updates and get rid of them on windows 2000 but no
luck yet.

Any other advice is much appreciated.

It occurs to me that while I've installed Office updates on Win2K in the
past, I have no idea where the information about them is stored, nor do I
see any way to uninstalled them on my system. Sorry I can't be of any
help.
