When it first came out, I installed Office XP Pro with Frontpage (full,
not upgrade) on my XP Pro system. I seem to remember it gave me an option
to keep in some way the old Office 97 Pro (full, not upgrade) on my hard
drive. It was a long time back and I think I did select that install
option.
When I now go to Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs, there
is the clear listing of Office 97 Pro on my system, taking up 215 MB of hard
drive space. When I click on it to remove it, I get a box with the message,
"Please insert your Microsoft Office 97 Professional CD 1". I have long
since gotten rid of my CD for this old version. Fortunately, I do still
have the CD Key written down for this old version.
Surely there must be some way to relatively easily remove the old Office
97 Pro from my hard drive. Suggestions? Thanks!
