Uninstalling Office for Mac

I got a copy of Office 2004 for Mac for educators. On it is listed
three registration numbers and it says that I can register the package
three times. As it turns out, I need to return the Mac on which I
loaded the Office for Mac, so I don't want that loading of the
software to count against the legitimate installs. Can anyone tell me
how can I uninstall it so as to retain the option for installing it
legally on another machine?

The thorough way to uninstall it is to run the Remove Office application
from the install disk.

Thanks very much. I just put the disk in the Mac to do what you
suggested. But nowhere can I see an option, "Remove Office application
on the install disk. I should note that I have never used a Mac
before so I may not be looking at this properly. I'm supposed to get
this machine back ASAP so if you can help me figure this out that
would be most appreciated.

Go to HD/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office/,
and launch the "Remove Office" application. Choose to remove all of the
files that it finds.

When you're done, you might need to manually delete the "Microsoft Office
2004" folder to finish the removal.

Thank you for the assistance. I see what you mean now.

I have recently been having problems with the Educator Version of Microsoft
Office 2004. None of the apps launch. Also seems to have affected my
Appleworks and WMV program. All other Apple/Mac programs work fine.
PowerPoint won't launch, Entourage, Word, and Excel also a no-go. Tried all
of the above recommendations and the Uninstall won't work either. Tried
disposing of the plist within the User/Library/Preferences/xxxxxx.plists- to
no avail. What's going on?

If you are using an Intel Mac, then this behaviour is most likely caused by
the recent QuickTime update.

It sounds like you've been hit with the recent problem from the latest Apple
iTunes and QuickTime updates. If the updates are not causing your problems,
post back.
