uninstalling Office XP

Will I lose Office files if uninstall Office XP & then
reinstall it. I am reinstalling the same version but have
come to this conclusion since none of the patches are
helping the computer's performance.

OFFXP: Long Delay in the Display of File Names from
the 'File Open' - this is the problem I have & nothing is
correcting the issue. Any thoughts on uninstalling &
starting over from scratch?

Uninstalling Office (any version) does not touch your documents or files
(.pst, etc.)

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
