Uninstalling Outlook Express 2007.

I need to install a 2000, 2002 or 2003 version of Outlook Express so
that my old organiser will synchronise. The computer originally had
Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition installed. This installs
Outlook Express along with the other Office programs and it cannot be
uninstalled by itself. When I uninstalled Office it left Outlook behind
and I cannot find any way to uninstall it. The old version of Outlook
will not install because it sees the newer version still installed. I
disabled Outlook using "Add or Remove Windows Components" but the old
version still would not install.
I have searched for a way to completely remove the 2007 version but
have been unsuccessful. Could someone point me towards instructions for
the uninstall procedure? I am using WinXP SP2.

Well, first, Outlook Express is not Outlook. Outlook is not a Windows component
and is part of Office. If you want to uninstall it, go to Add/Remove Programs.
If Microsoft Office Outlook is not on the list, then do an Add/Remove of
Office and unselect Outlook from there.

Outlook Express 2007
No such version of Outlook Express.
Outlook Express 2000
No such version of Outlook Express.
Outlook Express 2002
No such version of Outlook Express.
Outlook Express 2003
No such version of Outlook Express.

Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition
Unrelated to Outlook Express.
This suite does NOT install Outlook Express.

After uninstalling Office:
- Was it Outlook that was left behind?
- Or was it Outlook Express that was left behind?
Uninstalling Office does nothing regarding Outlook Express.

Well, thanks for all the information! I'll try to get things right this
time.
Looking at my organiser specification, it says I need Outlook
98,2000,2002,or 2003 to be able to synchronise. From what I read from
your replies it seems that I need not have uninstalled the Office 2007
Home and Student Edition, if I had known that neither Outlook Express
nor Outlook were installed by the program.
I am currently left with Outlook Express to uninstall so that I can
install one of the above versions, as I mentioned, it is not sufficient
to remove Outlook by the "Add or Remove Windows Components".
Grateful for any help...

Outlook Express being installed should *not* prevent you from installing
any version of Outlook.

What is happening when you try to install Outlook and what version are you
trying to install?
